When a wanna-be social media influencer / bartender meets a know-what-she-wants pre-law student, their chemistry ignites a red hot romance, unfortunately she thinks it’s a summer fling while he falls madly in love.
Synopsis
LYNDA FLYNN is a new romantic comedy that explores the red hot chemistry between two young lovers as they navigate dating in the social media era, ultimately realizing that they want different things out of life. The film explores such themes as youthful, naive love and first heartache. It's for all the people who thought they met mister or misses right but didn't end up with them.
Shelly is a directionless young man, working as a bartender and dreaming about the day when his social media channel blows up. He occasionally posts bar content on his channel, but hasn’t found an audience yet.
One afternoon, Lynda Flynn, a recent college graduate preparing to go to law school, walks into the bar and applies for a job as a waitress. Their chemistry is immediate and undeniable. Shelly shows her around and they flirt their way through several shifts.
Their romance builds. Their first kiss is magical. They go on a date to the theater. The beach. Trendy restaurants and shops. Late nights at Shelly’s apartment.
But then, some small problems start to pop up.
Lynda pokes fun at Shelly's rough appearance and takes him to get a hair cut and some new clothes. Lynda introduces Shelly to her friends, but Shelly doesn’t vibe with them. Lynda starts to become increasingly critical of Shelly’s utter lack of ambition as his channel languishes.
Lynda aces her LSAT. But Shelly oversleeps and shows up late to Lynda’s celebration. Finally, Lynda breaks up with Shelly and decides to move to the beach while she waits to get accepted to law school.
A fellow social media influencer convinces Shelly that he needs to share more of his personal life on his channel. Shelly decides to win Lynda back that night when she comes in to pick up her last paycheck. And he decides to live stream the whole thing.
But it’s a disaster. Lynda is there to pick up her final check, not to get back together with Shelly. Shelly is humiliated live in front of thousands of people, but his channel takes off. He decides to pursue a career behind the camera shooting and editing videos, where he finds much success and a new love interest.
